Vegetable and Fruit Carving with me :)

Hi! Aside from having my craze for tetris... I have now a new thing which makes me busy... that is Vegetable and fruit carving. We have class for that since I am a culinary student and it really amaze me each time we carve different fruits and vegetables. I keep trying to perfect my flaws and hope one time I will have my own masterpiece that I can be proud to everybody. Sorry I am just a newby at this!



I made this one as my practice at home :)


Final product at my class! First time I got 9.7/10 in carving tnx Sir! I'll practice more to keep improving... :)

First design for FINALS(scared!)  :) practice at home for masterpiece not contented but still happy with the results.

Second design :) I think i'm gonna stick with this one <3 got the concept from google but i revised it to make thid design mine :)... I need more practice!  That's my first time to make this design!... hope to execute it well on my finals :)

With God on my side nothing will be wrong! Tnx for Guiding me :) 

Gotta buy again another watermelon :)

For all those who are just starting this hobby we all just need patience practice and of course PRAY :) and youtube and google helped me a lot! keep browsing! keep having designs that will make you happy :)

Denim Knife holder bags

Wednesday is no class days! hahaha

Nothing to do but face the computer and say hi to the world for some but me I have a simple earning technique that I have. I am a culinary student and most of the people I communicated with in my field likes to have a knife case. Lucky me I can make them in just a day! Yah I do sew simple stuffs. I am from Taal,Batangas ang sewing is one of the common jobs we have here so I learn a thing or two about sewing stuffs. As a result I have made 4 knife cases and still I have 2 orders left for me to do in a little while. I used sewing machine for it because it is much easier than doing it with your hands. I make personally designed knife cases to suit their own needs. Come on we don't have the same sizes of knives and we don't have the same things! So having them design it will be an eye catching moment for them to order and designed the best looking knife cases their will be. I used denim cloth since it can withstand the blade of the knife.

They can request anything since they are the one to design their own knife cases.

Seminar

Seminars? are they good? bad? or simply boring? hahaha

For me seminars can be all of them... It all comes to the speaker. Often time seminars are made to further know what the professionals outside the school view a certain topic that will further teach students about the REAL WORLD. Real world is the world we will all be accustomed once a student graduates from school and assume a very challenging life of work and family.

according to WIKIPEDIA:

Seminar is, generally, a form of academic instruction, either at an academic institution or offered by a commercial or professional organization. It has the function of bringing together small groups for recurring meetings, focusing each time on some particular subject, in which everyone present is requested to actively participate.

There are different persons who attends seminar according to their characteristics:

BRAINY- nerd type people always jutting down notes on every word the speakers says. Most people are like this when they need to do reflective essays that they will pass the next day.

MUSIC PLAYER- persons that love music so much that from start to finish have their ear plugged with their music players.

GAME MASTERS -  yeah! psp ipod iphone and all gadgets playing the latest game from start to finish of the said seminar.

ZZZZSLEEPING MONSTERS- your hands are the only mechanism needed to sleep while everybody cooperate with the said seminar.

CLOWN IN A MILLION - laughter all the way. 2 types one who laughs with friends and one who make fond of the speaker...

7th Goldilocks Inter Collegiate Cake Deco Expo!

This is one of the opportunities that I missed :( too bad...
Still I will have a review on it :)

Since 2006, Goldilocks has been staging its annual "Intercollegiate Cake Decorating Challenge". The idea behind the competition is to give college students a venue to showcase their creativity and talents. Majority of (baking) industry events focus on professional demos and/or seminars. This year, a record of 91 schools from all over the Philippines submitted entries, in hopes of being one of the 10 finalists.


I heard from those who went to this prestigious event that there are workshops in the morning... Too bad I missed it I had hope to learn a thing or two about this magnificent cakes!


There are 2 Category which is Girl and Boy Category in which they will use cupcakes as their base cakes... Yess cupcakes! How thrilling!
LPU Batangas won 1st place Boy Category
LPU Laguna won 1st place Girl Category and they also won The OVERALL Champion throphy that is passed on competition per competion....


Since I am from LPU Batangas I have a pic from a friend of mine their Magnificent cake made from cupakes as base cakes nom nom :)

It's been a while since I post something its all because of the class works that keep piling up each day... hahaha

I want to share more things of me in this blog and I hope to continue it when I have lots of time :)

By the way in a few weeks time I will start my OJT... God please guide us and may I have a better and the best OJT that I will have... This is the last OJT and after a year I will graduate... YeSS! But yeah too soon to celebrate but the taught of graduating now comes to mind and all the memories of college life keeps coming back... Tears... Laughter... Joy... Excitement... Thrill... and Friendships that come our way!

I haven't watched the series though... But I have the results already... From... WIKIPEDIA! hahaha.... I wish I could find it in youtube soon... Please! Please! hahaha... Every thursday be it busy(and I mean it) or not I literraly scan youtube for videos of this series... Sorry Tyra... I am from Philippines so it takes months before we enjoy watching your show here... First thought. First Cake.

I chatted with a first year friend in facebook and I open the topic about her first decorated fondant cake she make because of a workshop she joined. It brings me back memories... of the first cake I decorated. I don't normally decorate my cake. Often times I put butter icing with my cakes or i put chocolate icing. I do want to decorate with fondant but they are all just in my head since I don't know how to make one for a start. These cake is one of my accomplished fondant(I used marshmallow fondant) cake. Its my first cake. It's a project for a special occasion. That's Madeth's debut celebration. A gift... that is well thought of. I practised fondant since I don't know how to make it before. Youtube really helped me at this one. I thought of the design and for the cake I used chocolate cake... It's one of the favorite flavors so I made that. yeah many mistakes for this first cake... but i do try my best for it to be nice haha.... I remember finishing the cake at 1 am hahaha yeah i overworked it... those flowers are still fondant since I don't know how to make gum paste yeah I totally sucked at doing these even though I am a culinary arts student but I do have the passion... I just needs some practice! hahaha Yeah that's right practice practice practice with pRayer prayer and prayer!
Results.... She liked it hahaha and even her friends liked it thanks! She even told me that she like my cake more than her own debut cake hahaha that's the nicest compliment in cooking and baking that I have ever gained in my Life... If Madeth can see this well thanks for being my friend... my closest friend in highschool... haha :)

Success

Nice picture.... This caught my eyes when I was browsing my facebook account(Yes, I do have one... I also have twitter and tumblr accounts). The message pertains to how you can achieve success. Success will not just pop out and say you received success but it is quite a long process. You need a lot of hard work and a lot of determination to be able to say that you gained or attained success in life. There are many people who may say that they are successfull in life but actually the hid something in their mind which says I am not. For me success is one which you can say you don't wish for anything in life... I am just happy... no words can explain... that's how I view being successfull. I wish I will be successfull soon :)

Start of something NEW!

Hi! I am a Junior Culinary Arts student. I have made a couple of blogger sites but nothing captures the real me or the person who I am. Often my blog features an anime I am following.. haha yah I'm a bit addicted to anime and manggas... Comments are very welcome but please do considerate that this is all about "me". yah... me! hahaha... I am actually a very friendly and dedicated student. haha dedicated... well I have been a dean's lister in the past... when I say past It means I am not now haha... but Life goes on... I am still happy with the result even though a bit disappointed. Only few people know the real me and I want to share the "me" side here in this blog. i could put anything that fancy me at the moment it could include food, anime, experiences and many more... If you will follow this blog... I would really do appreciate it haha.... I do not promise to blog everyday since I am not sure with my schedule as a student but I'll do try keep this updated... Gonna be posting some pictures later.... Happy Vacation Everyone!
